The police said that the man had changed his name, Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, to Bijoy Das after entering India. He was using multiple names including Vijay Das, Bijoy Das, and Mohammed Iliyas.

The attacker was arrested from Hiranandani Estate in Thane after an intensive search.

The police have registered a case against the accused under sections 311 (robbery or dacoity with the intent to cause grievous hurt or death, 331(4) (house-breaking) and other relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and Passport Act, 1967, the official said.

On Thursday at around 2:30 AM, he reportedly broke into Khan’s 12th-floor apartment in the ‘Satguru Sharan’ building. During the attack, the actor was repeatedly stabbed with a knife. Despite the violent assault, Khan, 54711bet, managed to survive and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Doctors have confirmed that Khan is now in stable condition and may be discharged soon.
